How is the 2023 Reunion different from the 2019 reunion?

We have had a lot of excited fans asking about the Crystal Lake Reunion taking place this June. To help out other fans, we thought we would sum up some of the more frequently asked questions here. Hope to see you in June!

At the time of the last reunion, there were relatively few fans that had attended one of our guided tours. After surveying a huge group of fans, we decided to offer a jam-packed day including a tour, celebrity meet & greet and a movie screening. It was a crazy, non-stop day of excitement and exhaustion – and except for a little rain on Saturday, things went really well. The attendee survey feedback from that event was overwhelmingly positive. It was the first time we had ever attempted a large scale reunion, so we were very pleased with the results.

Needless to say, a lot has changed since 2019. Prior to the pandemic, we were hosting just one or two tour events per year. Due to the Covid related camping restrictions, we were able to formalize our tours into a more regular program with a larger number of events taking place each year. A few years later, we have had the pleasure of meeting SO many more fans during our tours.

When we started thinking about another reunion, we combed through the 2019 feedback and then designed an event to build on our previous success while matching the current requests from our fans:

  • With so many fans having already been on a tour, this event is more focused on an amazing meet & greet. Removing the tours from this event will remove much of the down time experienced at the last reunion when fans were finished with their meet & greet session and waiting for the tours to start. If you are more interested in a guided tour, don’t worry – we have many tour options available in the 2023 calendar.
  • The previous reunion meet & greet took place under a huge unappealing white tent near our dining hall. Since the filming set won’t be tied up with tours, this meet & greet will move to the heart of the set in and around our iconic cabins. There is nothing more surreal than meeting our guests on the actual set. If you’re the type of fan that likes a special photo op, get ready for some incredible photos that you won’t be able to find anywhere else.
  • Each fan comes to this event with different goals in mind. Some fans only need a few photos and autographs. Instead of having to wait until dark to watch the movie (9pm in June), we will have the movie playing all day in our dining hall where fans can take a break to watch their favorite scenes just moments after meeting the celebrities on the filming set.
  • Tickets for the sold-out 2019 reunion were one-size-fits-all at $395 each. The timed entry at the 2023 reunion will allow fans to choose the amount of time they would like to spend at the event at a cost of up to 57% less than the 2019 price. The earlier morning tickets will benefit from more overall time at the event and a smaller group of fans in the initial hours.

As for the VIP overnight experience:

  • We will be operating at about 60% of our previous capacity to reduce the number of fans in each cabin. We expected this smaller number of tickets to sell fast and yes, they are already sold out.
  • The VIP price has not changed since 2019 and now also includes a private dinner with our celebrity guests and a private movie screening. The Friday night experience is discounted to the lowest VIP price ever due to the reduced time we will have available on Saturday morning before the reunion event restarts.

Is that all? Of course not – but you know how we like to keep a few surprises.

As always, thanks for your continued support of all of the worthy causes that our events contribute to. These events fund many projects and youth camping programs throughout the Northern New Jersey Council, BSA. Beyond all of the great things happening at the camp, we have also now raised over $23,000 for Happiness is Camping, another camp just around the bend that provides a free summer camp program for children with cancer.

Are we excited for this reunion? You bet. On behalf of all of the camp alumni that work hard to bring these events to life, we THANK YOU for your continued support and hope to see you at camp in June!

2023 Crystal Lake Reunion!

We made history in 2019 with the largest gathering of cast and crew from Friday the 13th Part 1 since the movie was released. It was an amazing event and the fans that travelled to the camp from all over the world still rave about it. We had plans for an even larger reunion in 2020, but Covid-19 took over the headlines just weeks after tickets went on sale.

The time has come to do it again. Break out your knee socks and favorite 80s apparel and join us back at camp on June 2nd or 3rd, 2023!

We are super excited to announce the 2023 Crystal Lake Reunion. Get ready to meet your favorite celebrities at the original Camp Crystal Lake! This exclusive on-location meet and greet event is going to be spectacular – and you won’t want to miss it. Our special guests will meet and greet fans in our iconic cabins and they will be available for discounted photos and autographs.

This event also marks the return of our VIP Overnight Experience!

HAPPINESS IS CAMPING – THANK YOU!

Beyond all the great things happening at Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco, we also raised funds for Happiness Is Camping during our 2022 events. Happiness Is Camping is a local camp that provides a high quality summer camp experience for children with cancer – all at no cost to the camper. We have been fundraising for them for a few years and were in their bronze level donor category in 2021.

After counting up the donation jars this year, we are thrilled to announce that we rounded up the 2022 total to $10,050! That lifts us up to the GOLD level and brings the overall total to $23,151 since we started this campaign. We are so happy to be able to support their cause – thank you for your amazing generosity!

If you would like to make a direct donation, please click here to visit their website.

THANK YOU again for making a difference for all of these kids!

Wrap-Up: Summer / Fall 2020 Tours

Masks, temperature checks, social distancing… even a bottle of Camp Crystal Lake hand sanitizer for each attendee!  Tons of careful planning went into our Summer and Fall 2020 tours.  This series of tours included celebrity meet & greets from Part 1 and Part 2 (including Ari’s first return to camp!), canoeing on the lake, evening flashlight tours, costumes on Halloween – and it all wrapped up on a Friday the 13th weekend in November.

The goal of these tours was to replace some of the lost summer camp revenue. If you joined us for one of these 43 tour sessions, we thank you for your support! It was fantastic to meet so many great local fans. We hope you enjoyed your visit.

September 2019: The largest cast & crew reunion in 40 years!

On behalf of all the volunteer tour guides and the rest of the Scouting community, we would like to thank all of the September 2019 tour attendees for their support and generosity.  All profit from the event will go directly towards our restoration projects at the camp.

Our 14th and 15th tours drew fans from 42 states and 7 countries!  With 7 cast & crew, this was also the largest reunion since the filming of the movie 40 years ago.  Absolutely amazing! We really enjoy providing these experiences and we hope you had a great time during your stay.

We would like to thank each and every attendee for making this event a massive success.  You are now part of NoBe’s history which stretches all the way back to 1927.  As an ambassador of our tour, please tell your fellow fans about your experience and please discourage anyone from trying to enter the property outside of an official tour.  Trespassers on the youth camping property make it very difficult for us to get permission to run these tours.  Thanks for your help!

Finally, we would like to thank Adrienne, Jeannine, Robbi, Ron, Harry, Tom, Taso and C and V Promotions for making this event even more special for our fans.  The memories from this weekend will certainly last a lifetime.  Until we meet again…

May 2019: Fans from far and wide!

Our 11th, 12th and 13th tours drew fans from 39 states and 6 countries!  Except for a little rain on Friday morning, the weather was outstanding.  We loved watching your reaction to Jeannine opening the shower curtain!  We had a great time providing these experiences and we hope you had a great time.

We would like to thank each and every attendee for making this tour a massive success.  You are now part of NoBe’s history which stretches all the way back to 1927.

Our 8th, 9th and 10th tours drew fans from 28 states and five countries – covering 4 continents! Except for a little rain on Saturday morning (we dodged Hurricane Michael!), the weather was ideal for October.  We’ll certainly never forget seeing Robbi dropped off for the first tour in an Elston Oil fuel truck. We had a great time providing these experiences and we hope you had a great time.

We would like to thank each and every attendee for making this tour a massive success.  You are now part of NoBe’s history which stretches all the way back to 1927.

April 2018: Thank you, thank you and thank you.

On behalf of all the volunteer tour guides and the rest of the Scouting community, we would like to thank all of the April 2018 tour attendees for their support and generosity.  All profit from the tour will go directly towards our restoration projects at the camp.

What a weekend!  Snow on Tuesday morning, then 81°F on Friday and 80°F on Saturday.  Our Saturday overnight campers also had a dose of winter weather – flurries were falling when Adrienne made a surprise visit to our campers in the middle of the night!  That didn’t stop them from enjoying a morning canoe ride when it was only 42°F.  We then experienced flooding rains here in New Jersey on Monday, so we were VERY lucky.

We would like to thank each and every attendee for making this tour a massive success.  You are now part of NoBe’s history which stretches all the way back to 1927.

Finally, we would like to thank both Adrienne and C and V Promotions for making this event even more special for our fans.  The memories from this weekend will certainly last a lifetime.

More happy fans!

Wow! We hope everyone had as much fun as we did. Our fourth tour group came from every corner of the US – and a total of three countries! A perfect November tour!

After selling out within seconds, the third ever public tour of the primary filming location of Friday the 13th, Part 1 took place on Friday, November 13th, 2015. The autumn winds were howling, but it was an otherwise perfect day with the sun shining.  This was by far the largest tour and once again a great group of fans.  “Campers” came from at least 7 different states including California and Florida!

September 2013: THANK YOU!

The second-ever public tour of the primary filming location of Friday the 13th, Part 1 took place on Friday, September 13th, 2013. It was another beautiful, sunny day at Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco – similar to the day of the first tour. An intense line of thunderstorms had passed through the area the night before and knocked out power to much of the area, but that wasn’t going to stop us from making dreams come true – after all, three of our guests were coming from as far away as California, Ontario and Norway! We quickly found a vendor to deliver porta-potties on short notice, cooked lunch in a dark kitchen and prepared the tour locations for some great photo opportunities.

Everything else that day went very smooth and our guests all left with smiles on their faces – and of course the power came back on while the last guests were leaving! We hope everyone got back home safe and we hope you’ll be able to join us again in the future.
